Situation:

A customer is building a new tape line. They need to make the line flexible enough so that it may be used for other products in the future.

Problem:

The performance requirements for the present are known but not for the future. A cost effective solution must be found to satisfy both the present performance/cost objectives and higher performance which may be required in the future.

Solution:

CMC provided ten 50 lb. MWF Ultra Cartridge Transducers and five Ultra Din Rail Amplifiers.

Result:

The Ultra Line gives the customer both the ability to do expanded tension ranges of 40:1 in the future and provide noise immunity from AC Variable frequency drives that may be added later on. With the Ultra Line you get double (40:1 vs. 20:1 tension range) for only 10% more cost.

Customer's Comments:

"I like Cleveland Kidder products and have been using them for a number of years. Don?t know if I needed the Ultra Line, maybe the Classic would have worked. This is a $800,000 line and I can?t afford to have problems. For only 10% more I can be assured that I have the best, and I don?t need to concern myself about having enough tension range or experiencing noise problems."
