Situation:

The customer couldn't get the desired tension range and consistent performance from a competitor?s upgrade done three years previously with new drives, tension controllers and five sets of load cells that controlled five tension zones.

Problem:

Their existing load cells were non-linear and not repeatable over the desired tension range.

Solution:

CMC provided ten 200 lb. MWF Slim Cell Transducers and five Din Rail Amplifiers.

Result:

Lower tension films are now repeatable and quality issues have disappeared. The customer can now run products requiring a wider range of tensions.

Customer's Comments:

"We now have the capability to run lighter films requiring as little as 10 pounds of tension comfortably, well below our typical 18 pound range. At the upper end, we can now expand our product range to as high as 150 pounds, well beyond our typical 65 pound capability. This means that we can offer customers broader capabilities on both sides of the spectrum and take on new products."
