The Cleveland Motion Controls 4Zone Tension Controller combines the power of
FALCON, CMC's Programmable Automation Controller with the experience, reliability and application
know-how of the Cleveland-Kidder product family. By combining closed-loop tension control along with
the powerful IEC-61131-3 machine logic control the 4Zone Tension Controller offers the most
advanced converting machine controller available.
The 4Zone Tension Controller accepts a +/- 0-10 VDC input from any feedback device including tension
transducer amplifiers and dancer position sensors. Each zone can be configured independently as a
speed, tension, dancer, intermediate, unwind or winder.
The 4Zone Operator Screens are preconfigured with easy operator setup selections. Advance
customization is possible using the CMC FALCON Development Software package (available as
an option).
Design Features
Cleveland Motion Controls' 4Zone Tension Controller provides a complete machine control solution
by combining an executable FALCON runtime routine for 4 separate PID loops within a thin panel PC
and associated I/O hardware. Each section can be programmed as an unwind, winder, helper or
master section. Scaling and tuning parameters are available for each section. An HMI is included
and provides the operator complete control of the machine including start/stop control, speed
and tension set point and display. The FALCON 4Zone Tension Controller offers an affordable
package using the latest embedded PC Technology.
